Scroll down as bride-to-be Josie reveals why you should never wear white to a wedding
A WOMAN has left people totally stunned after she was asked to leave a wedding all because of her outfit.
Caroline Ricke explained that the maid of honour requested that her mother go home and change her outfit, after she turned up in white for the big day.
The content creator claimed that she warned her mum that the outfit could spark concern, but Caroline’s mother was in shock at the ordeal and described it as “ridiculous.”
Posting on social media, Caroline was in fits of laughter, as she said: “My mum and I just left a wedding ceremony and the maid of honour asked her to go home and change before she comes to the reception.”
Caroline then showed off her mum’s wedding guest dress, a floor-length, off-the-shoulder, white frilly dress.
Shocked at the situation, Caroline’s mother, who styled the frock with sunglasses and a chunky necklace, then replied: “I bought this beautiful dress to go to this wedding and now they’re asking me to go back and change?
“I’m sorry, I’m not going back.”
To this, Caroline explained: “You look good but it’s literally a wedding dress, I told you they were going to say something.”
But clearly not impressed, her mother snapped: “Well, in my country you are allowed to wear white for weddings.”
Despite the dress saga, Caroline later confirmed that her mother “ended up going back” to the wedding later that day.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @richcaroline, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has since racked up 1.1 million views.
But social media users were stunned at the woman’s wedding-dress style gown, and many were shocked that Caroline let her mother wear the dress in the first place.
One person said: “You let her leave the house like that?!”
Another added: “Why didn’t you tell her?!”
A third commented: “You should’ve refused to let her out of the house in that.”
Meanwhile, someone else penned: “This is insane.”
At the same time, one user wrote: “Better asking her to change than spilling red wine on her.”
Whilst another chimed in: “She’s lucky they’re letting her come back.
“My maid of honour had red dye waiting for anyone who wore white to mine!”
