One of her priced possessions is a baby blue Ford Mustang called Britney
WITH sprawling LA mansions and millions of pounds in the bank, it’s no surprise that many A-list stars boast an incredible car collection.
But for Hollywood It girl Sydney Sweeney, that obsession goes even further – as she spends her free time restoring a fleet of beautiful vintage cars.
The Euphoria actress, 26, is so passionate about her hobby that she has a dedicated TikTok account with 1.8million followers, where she shares her adventures fixing up motors, including a classic Ford Mustang called Britney.
Over the years, her collection has included everything from a humble Volvo to a Toyota Landcruiser – and she even tied up with Ford to design a personalised car.
Her latest purchase is a $68,500 Fiat Jolly – a cross between a golf cart and a dune buggy – which is perfect for cruising around the stunning $13million oceanfront mansion she snapped up in Florida earlier this month.
No doubt, Sydney will be keen to get under its hood too. After buying up old bangers, she often finds parts online and fixes them herself.
She previously explained: “I come from a family of mechanics. It’s in my blood.”
In another interview, she said: “I feel like I am the most me when I’m at the shop. When I film Euphoria, I like to have a car in the shop to work on whenever I’m not on set.”
She added: “I think people just have to not be afraid of putting themselves in a male-dominated environment.”
Here, we take a look at the Anyone But You romcom star’s relationship with her first love – her car collection.
Impressive collection
When Sydney first got her driver’s licence, she zoomed around in a 1994 Land Cruiser, followed by a 1990 Volvo sedan.
They were both passed down to her from her grandparents.
These days, one of her most beloved possessions is her 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible, which she named Britney.
After snapping up the car in 2021, she took to her TikTok account, which is called syds_garage, to gush about her plans to fix it up.
She captioned one of the posts: “Meet my new baby, Britney. I’m going to start working on her soon.”
Ford was so impressed by her stellar work on the car that they offered her a deal to design a dream Mustang for a giveaway.
She said about the deal: “I’ve pulled a lot of the retro vibes from my own Mustang and put them into this modern 2024 version.”
Her partnership with Ford has since gone beyond collaborating on cars. They have worked together to launch a collection of work gear, which includes overalls, hats, T-shirts, and a racing jacket.
Last year, in November, she debuted her second limited-edition collaboration with the car maker.
Sydney also owns a 1956 Ford F100, which her grandfather gave her as a gift.
She has posted snaps of herself working on the motor, which was also the car she learned to drive in.
One of her early successes as a budding mechanic is her 1969 Ford Bronco.
It was the car that launched her TikTok page, which documents the extensive work she did to restore it, and she reportedly spent $150,000 on it.
Sydney explained that she fixed it up in the shop of Rod Emory, the father of a close friend, who has been restoring classic Porsches since the 1990s.
She gushed: “He builds and restores the most beautiful vintage Porsches, and I somehow convinced him to let me have my Bronco in the shop — because he only does Porsches.
“So he cleared out a little section for me, and he walked me through, and … he and the people in his shop helped me and taught me how to do everything, because there’s so much to learn, and I don’t know everything at all.”
