He’s lost none of his old swagger
PROUD Frankie Dettori walked daughter Ella down the aisle on her wedding day – before busting out some epic dad dancing moves at the party.
The world’s most famous jockey beamed with joy as he joined Ella when she tied the knot on Monday with Declan Levey.
Frankie, 53, wrote on X: “So proud. Congratulations to my daughter Ella and her now husband, Declan, who married yesterday.”
The loved up couple have been together for a few years and Declan like Ella has a background in horses.
Ever the showman, Ella’s old man couldn’t help but steal the limelight on the dancefloor as the couple and guests celebrated later on.
With his tie removed and blazer off, Frankie showed off all his old swagger with some slick moves alongside his daughter.
Frankie is back in the UK just in time for Royal Ascot, but he won’t be racing at the Royal meeting.
The Italian, whose Magnificent 7 at the track in 1996 still sends shivers down the bookies’ spines, has been loving life in America since his retirement U-turn.
Frankie officially left Britain for California last October after his incredible last-to-first ride on King Of Steel on Champions Day.
And bookies were certain the former I’m A Celeb campmate would be given some rides in front of King Charles and Queen Camilla at the five-day June meeting.
But it has not materialised this year, with Frankie instead on-site to help host guests with his mate and top chef Francesco Mazzei.
Frankie and Ella have enjoyed success on the track together in the past, notably when she raced in the Magnolia Cup at Glorious Goodwood.
Ella was just 19 when Frankie led her down to the start of the charity, women-only Flat race.
And he got a taste of what he puts loyal wife Catherine and their five kids though every time he jumps in the saddle when watching Ella hurtle down the undulating track at top speed.
There was no Dettori winner in that race but Frankie has continued to help out punters over in the States.
He landed one bettor a whopping £100,000 after riding a 77,000-1 six-timer at Santa Anita in April.
