A BODY of a man believed to be missing TV doctor Michael Mosley has been found on the Greek island of Symi.
The Sun understands it was found with an umbrella close to a dangerous cave complex known to locals as “The Abyss”.
The remains are awaiting formal identification. Police officials say they believe the body to be that of the missing Brit TV presenter.
It is understood the body was first found by a barman behind a fence close to the rocky coast. He then called the police.
Dr Mosley, 67, had been last seen in haunting CCTV footage at 2pm on Wednesday leaving the village of Pedi and headed towards a rocky path.

Police believe the body found in the Greek Island of Symi is that of missing TV doctor Michael Mosley, however it awaits formal identification.
The body – found a 30 minute walk from where Dr Mosley was last seen – was discovered behind a fence close to the rocky coast by a barman.
A police spokesperson told The Sun today “there was no question” the man was Dr Mosley.
“We have been able to identify him from his watch and clothes,” said police spokesperson Konstantina Dimoglou.
“He was found close to a cave on a rocky beach. How long he had survived there is hard to tell but he had walked a very long way. He was close to where he wanted to get to.”

The mayor of Symi, Eleftherios Papakalodouk, told Greek outlet SKAI: “The body was found on land 10 meters from the beach, next to a plot fence, which is why it had not been found for so many days.

Papakalodoukas added: “It is unclear if he had an accident or if he felt unwell.”
Locals at the chaotic scene told The Sun it is “shocking” news amid the major search operation that has gripped the small island.

Ilias Tsavaris, 38, the bar manager at Agia Marina, told The Sun: “I walked up 30 metres and I saw an image of a person, I said is that…I went closer and closer.
“I called the owners, him and the other guy, and they called the police.”
He continued: “He came from Pedi okay, and he didn’t come to the restaurant, if he had walked through there [the bar] we would have checked the cameras.”
Ilias added: “Rescuers had searched that area everyday with helicopters.”

Mayor of Symi, Eleftherios Papakalodouka, told The Sun on Sunday that searchers had been looking for Michael Mosley in the wrong spot for the first two days.
The search area has now been expanded to cover a radius of 7km — or 4½ miles — including areas which officials have described as “treacherous”.
It is centred around Agia Marina which is 3km from Pedi and accessible only by foot or water taxi.
The fire service was exploring a sprawling network of caves, known as The Abyss.

The mysterious disappearance of Michael Mosley took a new turn last night after rescuers feared the TV doctor could be trapped in an underwater tunnel system.
