Reddit user Open-Tangerine757 had plans to attend a wedding with an interesting dress code.

They revealed in a post the required pieces and optional add-ons.

In terms of attire, suits were required, and ties were optional, while the gowns had to be mid or full-length.

Light metallics or neutral colors were recommended for the women.

They asked female attendees to avoid white or ivory shades, red, black, or “very dark or very bright colors.”

A Reddit user commented that the “bride worries too much about the color scheme and how it’d look in photos.”

“I have never looked at a wedding photo and thought ‘that guest wears too bright color,'” they added.

“Welcome to Werner Herzog’s sad beige wedding for sad beige people,” someone quipped.

“I was wondering what f**king colors were left after white, off-white, black, red, dark, and bright. You are absolutely correct. BEIGE FOR ALL,” another replied to them.

The most controversial part of the requirements was the suggested footwear.

Bride’s Shocking Wedding Gift Email Goes Viral

If you wanted to wear heels to the wedding that wasn’t an option because flats and sneakers were required, according to the bride.

Not everyone agreed with the style choices for the nuptial event.

“What are they smoking? Gown with flats or sneakers. Is this in a damn basketball gym?” a Redditor commented.

“Truthfully I’m not wearing a gown to a wedding unless I’m in the wedding but this all seems ridiculous.”

“Gowns need to be full or mid-length but sneakers are okay?” another rhetorically asked.

“I’ve never seen it required but I have seen suggestions for flat shoes when the venue was mostly outdoors,” someone else chimed in.

“But usually it was more along the lines of venue is outdoors and on grass so heels are not recommended and may be difficult to walk in.”

Overall Reddit users were not fans of the wedding attire rules.

“Dress codes for weddings are getting way out of hand. Your guests are people, not goddamn Instagram props!” one said.

“It’s not like we don’t have the technology to color-correct specific items in photos. A photographer with a little bit of skill can absolutely change a guest gown from bright red to beige,” another person remarked.

“What’s wild is instead, brides think they can just say this in the invitations now instead! You can always tell an Instagram bride.”
