The star appeared alongside Joey on hit TV show Towie
AMY Childs has admitted she’s worried her former Towie co-star Joey Essex could end up getting used on Love Island.
Joey shocked the nation when he entered the famous villa last week looking for love and swiftly coupled up with Samantha.
Amy thinks they are a perfect match and already thinks they could win – insisting he wouldn’t be interested in Harriett at all.
She explained to Closer: “Joey doesn’t like drama, we saw that with the whole thing with Harriett, he doesn’t want to get involved in it. So he won’t be having any rows or stuff like that, and he will always be honest with people.”
Discussing if being famous will impact his journey, Amy admitted: “Possibly.I guess being famous and going into the villa has advantages and disadvantages.
“The advantage is that he’s already so well loved and popular and everyone is behind him – he’s got the whole of Essex supporting him.
“But there is that chance that someone might come in and just go after him for fame – but Joey will know. He’s been around long enough and had enough hangers-on over the years to know who is genuine and who is just using him.”
During last night’s episode, viewers saw Samantha once again push Joey about his celebrity lifestyle, leaving him uncomfortable.
She later wanted to gain some clarity on her connection so pulled him for a chat.
The Liverpudlian said: “I’m not being funny or nothing but you are Joey Essex so I know what girls are like, do you know what I mean.
“They’re going to go ‘oh Joey Essex is in there so they’re going to be like, right, let’s get on Joey Essex’.
Unsure what to make of Samantha’s observation, Joey looked bemused as Samantha quipped back: “They are Joe, I’m not stupid.”
Joey then told Samantha: “If someone is with me for that reason, because I’m Joey Essex, that’s not for me, I promise you, that is not for me.”
Samantha asked: “Well what do you think about me, do you think I’m like that?”
Joey expressed that he doesn’t want to be with a girl who likes his status.
